These are tough times. With the COVID-19 pandemic many churches are not in a position to thrive as Bonhomme is. Many churches are closing. Many churches are in crisis. Though we are sad and disappointed that so many classes, programs–and even in-person worship– have been postponed or canceled, Bonhomme is still able to positively impact our church family and our St. Louis community. There are times when life reminds us we aren’t as bulletproof as we think. Some weeks ago, I sneezed and something in my back protested.  I found myself on my knees in excruciating pain. The Nobel Prize-winning poet Czeslaw Milosz once wrote a three-sentence poem, “Learning”: To believe you are magnificent. And gradually to discover that you are not magnificent.
