The Practical Art of Spiritual Conversation | Pastor Jim Shultz | Room 3208
The Practical Art of Spiritual Conversation is about the art of when, if, and how to engage in a spiritual conversation. Refined through tens of thousands of spiritual encounters, you will be equipped with a helpful framework for discerning where a person is spiritually and how to encourage each person to take a step toward Christ regardless of where they may presently be in their faith journey.
The Book of Romans | Steve Lucas | Room 2107
The Book of Romans is the greatest of the great books describing our redemption.
In his preface to the 1552 addition of his commentary on Romans, Martin Luther states:
“This Epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament and the very purest Gospel and is worthy not only that every Christian should know it word for word, by heart, but occupy himself with it every day, as the daily bread of the soul.  It can never be read or pondered too much, and the more it is dealt
with the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes.”
Households of Faith | Emi Cella, Rhys Southworth| Community Room
Kids are thinkers. They ask good and sometimes hard questions about their faith, their relationships,
and their fears. As a parent do you sometimes not know how to respond?...us too.
Designed for parents with kids of all ages and stages, join us as we explore Bible-based answers to the toughest questions of faith, so we can understand our faith and help our children do the same.
Tough Questions of Faith – Answered | Terry Grogan | Room 3224
Why we Trust the Bible Series by Dr. Stephen Nichols
Dr. Stephen Nichols explains that we would be lost if not for God's Word,
trapped in the darkness of sin forever.
Rather than forsake us, God sent His Son, Jesus, revealing and recording His redemptive purposes in an inspired, inerrant, and authoritative source: the Bible. Sufficient for all of life.
Nov 5 - Why So Many Interpretations? The Clarity of Scripture & Interpretation;
Scripture for Life: The Sufficiency of Scripture

Jesus’ Bible Revealed| Pastor Steve Aeschbacher | Room 3205
Join Pastor Steve in an overview of the Old Testament, the Bible that Jesus read. Written over a period of more than 1,000 years by dozens of human authors, the Old Testament includes many different literary styles and 39 books but tells one story … a story that leads us to Jesus. We’ll cover the “10,000 foot level”
version of that story and learn about the main kinds of writings in our Old Testament.
Then we’ll turn to see some of the many ways we can find Jesus in the Old Testament.
From Bach to Rock: A Brief History of Christian Music | Jeff Russell | Chapel
This course will explore the biblical basis for worship music while enjoying the wealth of music we have inherited. We will explore the Old Testament roots of worship music and the evolution of Christian music from the Apostolic era to current expressions. The course is intended to deepen your worship experience and encourage our praise of Jesus as we learn from Christians of the last two thousand years.
The Book of Genesis (class taught in Mandarin) | Selina Li | Bride’s Room
Genesis is the book of beginnings, reveals truths about God, this world, our lives, our origin, and our destiny. Study this book not just for information, but to meet God. We can bring our hard questions to Him, approach Him anytime and develop a close relationship with our living God. This class is taught in Mandarin for the convenience of the native speakers of Mandarin so they may learn the word of God effectively.

Talking POints

How will the Sunday schedule change?
Traditional worship services will be held at 8:30am and 11:00am in the Sanctuary. The 11:00 am service will be a service (everything will be live with a host elder or pastor, but the sermon will be a replay of the 8:30 am service). Modern worship will be held at 11:00 am in Steffen Hall. The 3 Cs will take place at 9:45am.
Will Growth Hour classes go away?
In short, no! But, in addition to great classes, we will offer coffee and space to chat in the commons as well as have a special focus on growing in community with one another. We will continue to offer classes that so many have enjoyed in the past plus even more to serve our diverse covenant community.
Why are we doing this?
We believe God wants to grow us spiritually (Eph 4:11-16) and be unified together (John 17:20-26)! This is a move for the future that will allow us to have space to know and love the whole body, share in community with one another and learn more about God and His Word together.
Why should I be interested?
God calls us to be in community with one another. This focused hour allows us a chance to share a cup of coffee together and chat. We can grow in relationships and love as we enjoy community with one another. And, we can grow in our faith as we take classes on all kinds of things that will help us to live faithfully in God’s world. You won’t want to miss it!
What about the Youth?
Youth will worship at one of our regular Sunday services and have their own classes and community at 9:45! You are going to need to ask your parents if you can have coffee…
What will be offered for my children?
Kids church will meet at 11 am ONLY with specially designed kids’ classes and community at 9:45 am! Sorry, kids - No coffee.
